Low confidence/self-esteem derives from how a person perceives and values themselves. If a person has low-confidence/self-esteem they are likely to have a negative outlook of themselves and the world around them. The beliefs they hold about themselves can be difficult to change and as a result they can find life/situations more challenging.

A person struggling with low self esteem may not be able to recognise their strengths or show kindness towards themselves. They may feel a lack of control in their life and their decision making .
